We’re midway into January 2018. Hopefully, you have set (and kept) your New Year’s resolutions. If you haven’t made any yet, it’s time to do so. There’s nothing like taking a moment to pause and hit the reset button on your life as we move further into this new and refreshing year. If you are new to working out, trying to figure out how to get started and what you are supposed to do is overwhelming. Getting Started

STEP 1: ​CONQUER YOUR FEAR and YOUR WALLET
Conquering fear and frustration is half the battle. I know many of you have a fear of the gym and I completely understand. I have written articles on this subject alone. Basically, this is your fear of the gym: fear of the equipment, fear of looking foolish, out of place, or just not getting with the program. On top of that, gym memberships are costly. 
 
While on a much lesser scale, this same fear can apply to home gym equipment. Many people get discouraged because the equipment alone can look intimating and the price tags can be exorbitant. Some at-home vertical climbers can cost you well over $2,000! There are pulleys and straps and cords for who-knows-what. Somehow, you have two left over springs in the box (How did that happen?). Maybe there is a funny looking bar in the middle of the apparatus and you don’t have a clue whether you are supposed to sit on it or swing from it! I get it. It’s enough to make you give up. But don’t! Half the battle and very first step of your workout is knowing that you are making a wise purchase at under $150 and knowing all the parts and adhering to correct exercise form.

STEP 2: BREAKING IT DOWN
The beauty of The Maxiclimber Sport is that it comes almost entirely pre-assembled. You just have to pop in the handlebars, attach the calorie counter, and screw in the two bottom bases to the unit and secure with the safety pin. Done. Now it’s time to get acquainted with what you are getting:
  • Hand grips: Isometric for your comfort and ease
  • Handle bars: Height-adjustable
  • Foot Pedals: Nonslip for stability
  • Counter: Records your time, your steps, and your calories
  • Integrated Elastic Assistance System: Adjust the elastic bands at 3 levels of resistance for an easier or harder workout

STEP 3: STEP ON AND GO!
The Maxiclimber Sport is made for all ages, stages, body types, and fitness levels and can hold up to 240 lbs. Park it in front of your television, put it in your office, your bedroom, or wherever you are most likely to use it. Simply fold it up and store in a closet or under the bed when not in use.

The Newbie
This is for you! I like to say that if you can walk up or down the steps in your home, then you can embark on this fitness journey. I especially love this for beginners because of the confidence gained once you start seeing results. It’s the breakthough that leads you to challenge yourself more because you will feel better and more confident in your body.
 
All Fitness Levels
While I love the Maxiclimber for beginners, this is for all fitness levels, beginners and advanced fitness levels alike. First of all, I love that the Maxiclimber uses your own body weight. This lets YOU be in control of your workout rather than your workout controlling you! You control your pace, your speed and your workout and therefore, effectively tone and tighten without putting too much pressure on your lower body. There are also three levels of resistance through our Integrated Elastic Assistance System which allow you to adjust the resistance level for an easier or harder workout.
 
All Ages
Kids. Yes, kids can use this! Of course, make sure to watch over them and that they are safely and appropriately using the equipment. My eight-year-old daughter loves The Maxiclimber Sport. It’s a great way to get her to workout with me and get her off the electronics! Kids love it because it’s fun.
